A manufacturer who “walks the talk”

“Well if they sell my product it’s up to me to ensure that they are properly trained and understand how to adequately meet the needs of customers” says Michael Green SecureTech’s charismatic MD.

With that in mind SecureTech recently facilitated training for the staff of several branches of the “Outdoor Warehouse” group at Base 4, the headquarters of the Four Wheel Drive Club of SA.

The session was relaxed and informal but focused on the recovery products sold by the chain. Various experts in their respective fields lectured to the group beginning with a session on the typical customer, vehicle type and application and general terminology, Green was also adamant that the students be updated on the progress of the National Off-Road Workgroup (NOW) and future legislation.

After lectures students went through a series of recovery simulations where all the equipment sold at their stores was demonstrated, they even had the opportunity to physically operate a hand winch. The day ended with a demonstration of safety specific equipment whereby recovery failures were simulated with and without the necessary lanyards and safety blankets, students were amazed at the effectiveness of these simple items and returned to their stores more confident and competent.
