The brand is synonymous with safety be it with industrial users of lifting, lashing and safety equipment or the recreational 4x4 sector who rely on the SecureTech range to get them and their equipment safely across Africa’s 4x4 trails.

The SecureTech brand began some 27 years ago, known to ardent off-roaders as Spanset . Based in small premises in Strydom Park with an original staff component of six and two sewing machines their range was limited to about 4 off-road product lines and a comprehensive range of lifting, lashing and safety equipment for commercial applications. Today there are about 500 line items sold for outdoor and 4x4 applications. This range is now exported to over 20 countries around the world.

A focus on quality and customer care has seen tremendous growth and the brand with its distinctive packaging is seen on shelves across Southern Africa as well as being used at major building projects ,events and the transportation of heavy cargo. Today they are still in Strydom Park but have moved to larger premises with a multi-tiered factory operation with dedicated lines and 44 sewing machines. When going through the factory the atmosphere is jovial and friendly yet it is immediately apparent that each of the 58 staff has a strong focus on quality and the customer.

This is also evidenced by a rigorous testing programme run through the CSIR and the high quality webbing and imported components used in the manufacturing process, there are no short cuts ” Lives depend on our products and we take pride in the fact that our equipment is a trusted household brand” says Michael Green “We do not stand still, product development to meet the changing needs of the segments we service is ongoing and done in conjunction with our customers” says Green the charismatic head of SecureTech ( all products are made to internationally recognized standards (CE1492/SANS94) strictly controlled ISO 9001-2008 quality management standards).

Uniformity in design and stitch patterns on webbing as well as unique features such as moveable sleeves on straps are key factors that differentiate SecureTech from many of their competitors ,straps all have stitched in labels detailing the key safety tolerances as well as identifying the exact purpose, once again a major differentiation from the norm .When it comes to the staff they indeed walk the talk ,training is ongoing and the staff know and understand the application of their products enabling them to converse fluently be it with a hardened 4x4 expert, a technician on a building site or a transport manager looking for the best way to secure a difficult load.
