Important information
RUD was the first chain factory to gain the German TÜVCERT certificate under DIN EN ISO 9001 for its company management system.
The European standard EN 16662-1 became operative in July 2020 for snow chains for passenger cars up to light duty vehicles in the whole Europe. Some of RUD snow chain models have been already tested and certified according to this standard in general safety and performance requirements.
The snow chains that meet the Austrian standard Ö-Norm V5117 are still recognized in the countries where the Ö-Norm V5117 compliance was required. RUD snow chains fulfil SAE Class “S” (USA standard).
When there is a legal obligation to fit snow chains on heavy duty vehicles, they must comply with the Austrian standard Ö-Norm V5119. RUD snow chains for heavy duty vehicles meet the Austrian standard Ö-Norm V5119.
Laws and regulations can change. Please, always check the local country laws for any obligations, restrictions or limitations regarding the use of snow chains.

We all know by now that the impact of plastic on the environment and consequently on the human health is devastating. RUD has decided to make its contribution in reducing the plastic use in its products. Its first step is the packaging, converting the plastic cases of some of its snow chains products in totally recyclable appealing carton boxes that show features, information, image of the contained product. Inside the carton box, a waterproof sack will allow to store the chains once used.

Chain fitting instructions
The tyre sizes are based on the standard dimensions and standard wheel rims as specified under ETRTO (European standard) at the time of manufacture. Therefore a correct fit cannot always be guaranteed for retreaded tyres and twin tyres with a non-standard spacing. When making a purchase, please follow your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations concerning the use of snow chains, which you will find in the instruction manuals. Please follow the specific instructions of the vehicle manufacturer. There is a range of different tread depths for earth-moving machines (EM tyres) (L2, L3, L4, L5).
Therefore it is essential to state the tread designation. If in doubt, please state the tyre dimensions: diameter and width of the tyre. This catalogue contains chain types and sizes which fit the most common tyre sizes. Sizes not stated here are available on request. Please tell us the tyre size and manufacturer. To be sure, please also tell us the exact dimensions of the tyre: Diameter and width of tyre (D+W). For vehicles with „low” clearances between tyres and wheel housings, we also need the dimensions F and H. For twin-tyres, please also state dimension R.
